Ben (Japanese: ベン Ben) is a recurring character in the anime. He serves as a recurring antagonist in the anime, often aligning himself with the villainous teams of various regions.
History[]
Very little of Ben's past is known and his home region remains a mystery.
He first appears in A Black Day!, where he and his Charizard cause a huge forest fire in Eterna Forest as a distraction so that he could steal the Forest Jewel. Despite their best efforts, the group were powerless to stop him and he fled the scene, leaving the forest to burn.

Ben is known to many as an incredibly powerful and dangerous opponent who has little qualms about how badly he hurts his opponents, even seeming willing to kill them at certain points.

| This Shiny Charizard is Ben's only known Pokémon. Ben often arrives and departs scenes while riding on Charizard's back. Charizard is shown to be very similar to Ben: deadly serious and extremely brutal when battling. It first appeared in A Black Day!, where it was seen using Flamethrower to burn down Eterna Forest so Ben could steal the Forest Jewel. It battled against all of the group's on-hand Pokémon and was able to defeat them without effort, even when faced with multiple opponents at the same time. After Ben had successfully stolen the Jewel, he and Charizard flew away, leaving the forest to burn.
